Doğan Burda Announces Brand Transformation as Big Media & Technology

Doğan Burda, Turkey’s leading magazine publishing group, has announced a significant step in its corporate journey with a comprehensive transformation in digital publishing. With the ambition of further strengthening its market leadership, the company has officially rebranded as Big Media & Technology.

This strategic change marks the beginning of a new era, reflecting the company’s vision to combine its strong publishing heritage with innovative digital capabilities. By embracing new technologies and forward-looking business models, Big Media & Technology aims to enhance its influence in the media landscape while delivering even greater value to its audiences and business partners.

The rebranding represents a key step in the corporate transformation process initiated following the company’s acquisition last year by RePie Investment Holding and Altun Capital Holding. With this new identity, Big Media & Technology aims to reinforce its position in digital publishing and set new standards in the media industry through its advanced technological infrastructure.

Technology Investments and a Commitment to Responsible Publishing at the Forefront

“We are proud to lead the transformation of a company that has played such a defining role in Turkey’s press history,” said Dr M. Emre Çamlıbel, Chairman of the Board of RePie Investment Holding and Big Media & Technology.

Outlining the company’s vision for the new era, Dr Çamlıbel added:
“Big Media & Technology is evolving into an integrated structure that encompasses digital platforms, video productions and data-driven media solutions. We will continue to uphold our responsible and ethical approach to publishing, while reinforcing it with new technological infrastructures. Through this transformation, we are implementing an innovative and sustainable growth model within the media industry, while steadfastly maintaining our transparent and reliable relationship with our investors. We will remain meticulous in managing every stage of publicly disclosed processes.”

Anıl Altun, Chairman of Altun Capital Holding and Vice Chairman of the Board of Big Media & Technology, highlighted the strategic direction of the new structure, stating:
“Through our investments in media technologies, we aim to raise the standards of digital publishing. With our digital platform that enables access to all publications within the Group from a single point, our digital-first content, and our initiatives in video broadcasting, we are building a strong and dynamic presence in the media landscape.”

Growth Through Multi-Channel Digitalisation

Under the leadership of CEO Cem M. Başar, Big Media & Technology is developing a comprehensive digital publishing platform that will provide unified access to all titles within the Group. In addition to digital editions of existing publications, the platform will feature original, digital-first content designed to enhance audience engagement.

The Group is also preparing to expand into video broadcasting, beginning with YouTube and other leading video platforms, with the aim of creating a multi-channel media ecosystem that strengthens interaction with its readers.

With more than 40 million monthly page views across 21 websites and a social media community exceeding 7.3 million followers, Big Media & Technology is combining its strong heritage in traditional publishing with cutting-edge media technologies. The company’s goal is to deliver a more interactive, accessible and personalised media experience.

Once the corporate transformation is complete, Big Media & Technology will stand as a pioneering media powerhouse – rooted in tradition, while shaping the future.

A Diverse Portfolio of 92 Magazines

Founded in 1988 under the name Hürgüç Gazetecilik, the company laid the foundations of modern magazine publishing in Turkey in 1998 through the joint venture between Doğan Group and Burda RCS International Holding GmbH. Listed on Borsa Istanbul since 2000, the company today boasts a portfolio of 92 magazines spanning a wide range of special interest areas, including economy and finance, technology, interior design, youth, travel and exploration, lifestyle, fashion and women’s interests, health, and fitness.

Beyond publishing, the Group organises nearly 100 prestigious events each year, including the ELLE Style Awards and the International Economy Summit (UEZ). In its new chapter, the company aims to expand these initiatives by creating a stronger integration between its events and digital publishing activities.

Legal Process Following Public Disclosure

The company’s new trade name was publicly announced on 25 June 2025 through a material event disclosure on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP). On the same day, the necessary applications for the amendment of the Articles of Association were submitted to the Capital Markets Board of Turkey (CMB). The company confirmed that the approval process is currently ongoing.
